FAQ's
Why should I register with Florida Guardian Support Network?
By registering as a Professional Guardian with Florida Guardian Support Network you will be compensated for your service to indigent Wards with little to no income, assets or other resources.
How much compensation can I receive?
$60.00 per hour, up to 50 hours, each calendar year.
*We encourage quarterly billing. If you are submitting an order on guardian fees for the entire year, that order must be submitted within 60 days from year end.
*Beginning January 1, 2026, we will not pay compensation for more than 12 months of prior billing.
How do I receive compensation?
Submit a petition for guardian fees and order approving that includes language that you are being compensated by Florida Guardian Support Network only (until you reach the 50-hour cap). Please see our Guardian Support tab above for a petition and proposed order generator. Submit the petition for fees and the order approving to us by email.
What cases qualify for compensation?
Any Orange, Osceola or Seminole County, Florida adult guardianship case established after January 1, 2023, and the Ward is indigent.
*We define indigent as there are insufficient assets to pay Professional Guardian and attorney fees.
Can my attorney receive compensation?
Yes. Your attorney may receive $1,000.00 for the first calendar year of each new case, and $500.00 for each calendar year thereafter. Your attorney is required to file a petition for attorney fees and receive an order approving. They must submit an hourly invoice; flat rate invoices will not be accepted.
*We have allocated additional funds for a petition for extraordinary authority.
*No compensation will be made if no guardianship case is established.
*No compensation will be made until the Ward indigency is confirmed.
Why do you need my social security number?
We will provide you with a 1099 tax document each year. This is required to process payments.
